Terms of Use

1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you download or use the ACT app (“ACT”, “the app”, “we”, “us”). By using the app you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.

2. Who can use ACT

You must be at least 13 years old to use ACT. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian, including for any purchase.

3. What ACT is

ACT plays short voice reminders, in the voice of a coach you choose or your own, at the times and intervals you set. It offers focus sessions, a daily rhythm mode, streaks and insights. Features may change over time as we improve the app.

4. Free plan and ads

The free plan is supported by ads served by Google AdMob. You may choose to watch a short rewarded ad to unlock your own voice for one hour, once a day. The reward is applied after the ad finishes and ends when the hour is up.

5. ACT Plus subscription

• Plans. ACT Plus is offered as a monthly subscription ($5.99) or a yearly subscription ($39.99). Prices may differ by country, may include local taxes and are shown in the App Store or Google Play before you buy.
• Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account on iPhone, or to your Google Play account on Android, when you confirm the purchase.
• Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• Cancelling. You can cancel anytime: on iPhone in Settings (tap your name → Subscriptions), and on Android in the Google Play Store app (your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). Plus features stay active until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel your subscription.
• Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or from Google through Google Play, and decided under their policies, except where the law where you live gives you other rights.
• Price changes. If the price of your subscription changes, you will be notified in advance by Apple or Google, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

6. Your voice files

You may add audio files to use as your own reminder voice. You keep all rights to your files, and they stay on your device. You confirm that you own the files or have permission to use them, and that they don’t infringe anyone else’s rights. We are not responsible for the content you add.

7. Not medical advice

ACT is designed to support motivation and focus. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you are struggling with your mental or physical health, please contact a qualified professional.

8. Using the app fairly

Please don’t copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app; try to bypass its subscription or ad features; reverse engineer it except where the law allows; or use it for anything unlawful.

9. Our content

The app, its name, logo, coach characters, illustrations, voices and design belong to us and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these terms and the terms of the App Store or Google Play. Famous quotes shown in the app are credited to their authors.

10. Availability and changes

We work to keep ACT running smoothly, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. Reminders rely on your phone’s settings, such as notifications, alarms, battery saving and silent mode, which may delay or block them. We may update, change or stop parts of the app. If we stop offering ACT Plus, we will tell you in advance.

11. Disclaimer and liability

ACT is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these terms, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for missed reminders, lost data or results you hoped to achieve. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using ACT at any time by uninstalling it; remember to cancel any active subscription in your App Store or Google Play account. We may suspend access if you seriously break these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If you keep using the app after the changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
